Union League
Award-Winning Fine Dining
Located across from Yale University and overlooking Yale’s Old Campus, Union League is a maison of French cuisine that brings together Old World charm, French classical traditions, and a contemporary approach to flavors, textures, and natural ingredients. Its chefs and culinary team create our award-winning cuisine with local and organic fish, meats, cheeses, produce, and rare specialty products from around the world. Tracing its lineage to the Union League Club founded in 1884, Union League continues to serve as the preeminent home of Connecticut’s special occasion and fine dining, sought out for its superb cuisine, acclaimed wine list, and professional staff and service.
Our Historical Site
Union League is sited on the homestead of New Haven’s first mayor, Roger Sherman—the only American whose name appears on the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution. One hundred years later, Gaius Fenn Warner, one of the city’s leading industrialists, built his townhouse on the site. From the 1880s through 1940s, it became home to the Union League Club, a private civic and social club with the twin goals of cultivating "a profound national devotion" and to "strengthen a love and respect for the Union." Designed in the Beaux Arts tradition by New Haven architect Richard Williams, the building is a city and national landmark.
